Cindy is having a baby! A beautiful wee bub is growing inside - and Cindy is just looking stunning. I went up to Christchurch today to do a maternity session with her. We also had time to squeeze in some fun time with the boys and Daddy's birthday cake. What a fun day - and with such a good-looking family!

As a child I remember one of my mothers birthdays - I wanted to give her something, so I looked around my room... 'What can I give her...?' I picked up a soft toy, 'no, no, I like that too much'. How about this hat, 'no! it's my favourite.' I found an old plastic money box that I hadn't played with in centuries... This'll do.
I wrapped it up and coloured in the paper, decorated it with bows and stickers and shuffled off downstairs. "Happy Birthday Mummy!" She unwrapped it, "thanks Cathie, it's great!"
I found it in my bedroom a few days later after Mum had one of her cleaning sprees!
To celebrate parents, we have mini sessions coming up in both Christchurch and Timaru. See below for details:

The Premise:

THE PRIZE!
The winner will receive a complimentary boutique photo session for the child featured in the image submitted, AND a complementary 6"x9" print! That is a $173.99 value!!! The session must take place within South Canterbury (the session may take place outside South Canterbury, but standard milage rates apply) and be redeemed by 30th September 2010. A signed model release will also be required prior to the session.

1. Have a little photo session with your wee darling! (or you can submit a recent picture, if you prefer, but the photo must be taken by you)
2. Pregnant women women may also enter by submitting a self portrait, or a portrait of them taken by their partner, or a self portrait of a pregnant couple
3. Send your ONE favorite picture to me via e-mail (info@phunkeyphotos.co.nz). Be sure to add your name and your child's name and DOB. I will then post them to a special contest album on the Phunkey Photos Facebook fan page.
4. Join the Phunkey Photos Facebook fan page.
5. Send people (your friends, family, co-workers, etc.) to join my Facebook fan page and VOTE (by 'liking' an image) for their favorite picture.
6. Voting will close at 8pm on 31st August 2010. The winner will be announced on 1st September 2010 based on the total number of likes (votes) for each entered image. Votes are counted as likes on each individual image/entry. A person must be a fan of the Phunkey Photos Facebook fan page to like a photo.
The Rules:
1. ONE entry per person.
2. ONE vote per person.
3. Images must be received on or before 22 August 2010, voting will close on 31st August 2010 and the winner will be announced on 1st September 2010.
4. Submitted images must be of a baby/toddler up to 5 years of age or a pregnant woman/couple.
5. Photographs must be taken by yourself (with exception given to pregnant women who may have their partner submit a photo).
6. In the event of a tie, the winner will be selected randomly from the entrants with the most votes.

I have to say a massive thank you to Ryan Carter for all the time, effort and work he has put into it, not to mention his extreme patience with me having a new idea every two minutes! Ryan works full-time as a Graphic Designer in Christchurch where he lives with his wonderful fiancée, Kaylee. Ryan also freelances as a Graphic Designer outside of his 9-5 job, so if you need anything you can contact him via email (ryanjamescarter@hotmail.com). Thank you Ryan!

Perhaps you caught up a recent post about the gorgeous diaper covers from Holland Designs? I said there were more photo to come, and here they are. Lisa asked me to do some photographs for her of my little Jake wearing his diaper cover. Jake was fascinated with the grass whilst we were out shooting today.

Kaylee and Ryan - ENGAGED!

Wow! What a hectic day. Jake had me up early with his coughing (he's a little poorly at the moment, poor little dude), had the builder finishing off bit's on the house and then up to Christchurch for Kaylee and Ryan's engagement shoot. Kaylee spent ages hunting out the perfect dress and hair and make-up artist. In the end she picked out a dress from Two Squirrels Vintage Clothing and had Lisa Humphrey make her up. Ryan and Kaylee both looked the part and we had such a fun, amazing day climbing the rickety Christchurch rooftops and exploring the gorgeous Governors Bay. They wanted a relaxed, vintage feel, here is their sneak peek;

Aren't these diaper covers just adorable! Lisa, over at Holland Designs designs all sorts of funky crochet patterns, and will sometimes make the pattern up for you.
The one she has done for me is a stunner, made with 100% Merino wool it feels and looks gorgeous, even the wool is called Dreamtime! It features a false belt at back (for cute photos from behind), an adjustable front waist (to fit baby through from newborn to about 9 months) and decorative straps with buttons at the front.
